Greenbrier Middle School Band 2010-2011 Calendar
Sometimes calendar changes are unavoidable, but we will try and stay with the schedule below. Before most events,
I will post additional information on our website.
August
27 To Atlanta – Fox Theatre, Sound of Music. Leave at 1pm, return around 1am.
31 GMS Football Game
Meet at GHS Stadium. Game starts at 5:00, ends at 6:30. Optional for 7/8th grade.
September
7 Allstate audition fee deadline – 7th/8th grade
13 GMS Football Game Meet at GHS Stadium. Game starts at 5:00, ends at 6:30. Optional for 7/8th grade.
October
4 District audition fee deadline. – 7th/8th grade
5 GMS Football Game. Meet at GHS Stadium. Game starts at 5:00, ends at 6:30. Optional for 7/8th grade.
December
4 District Auditions – held at LMS. Exact times TBA
6 GMS Band Christmas Concert. 6,7,8th – 6:00.
9-11 University of Georgia Middle School Honor Band – 8th grade students involved TBA
January
8 2nd allstate audition
15 – (Saturday) Beauty and the Beast Trip to Fox Theatre, Atlanta
February
17-19 District Honor Band. Students involved based on audition in December.
March
We will have a couple of after school rehearsals to help us prepare for performance evaluations. Schedule TBA
3 Pre-festival after school rehearsal / concert.
10-11 Large Group Performance Evaluations. Exact day/time of performance TBA.
Students will need to audition for the festival performance. Details to follow
TBA 6th Grade performs during the day for visiting 5th grade
26 Beginning Honor Band – 6th grade students involved TBA
April
30 – (Saturday) To Atlanta – Fox Theatre, Shrek the Musical. Leave around 8am, return around 6pm
May
10 – GMS Band Spring Concert. 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade. 6:00 pm
Additional performances such as 1st grade vist, 5th grade visit, etc. TBA.
